It's Been Awhile

I have not posted in a long time. Brad and I are getting the "hang" of having three kids. Rhyder has been sleeping through the night for the past couple of weeks, so I think that helped us!

Here are some recent pictures of the kiddos. The pictures of Guy and Rhyder are from this morning. Lorem was not with us, so I picked a picture of her from a few weeks ago.This picture was taken on our last "girls day." Lorem and I love girl time. We are the only two girls in the house and I miss her being at school all day.
Guys is ALL boy. This is a picture of him this morning. He was playing in the sprinklers and throwing mud balls at the bricks. Does not sound fun to me...must be a boy thing!
Here is Rhyder. He is just chilling on the porch with Guy and I. He is such a sweet baby!

Weekend filled with visits from FAMILY!

Rhyder Owen Wofford

We welcomed Rhyder Owen Wofford into our family at 12:36 AM on 2/24/10. This was 7 hours prior to my scheduled C-section.
He is healthy and adorable! Weighing 7 lbs and 3 ozs. Measuring 20 inches long.

Rhyder has been a true blessing and one surprise after another. Brad and I thought our family was complete with Lorem and Guy. We found out this past June that we were expecting a third child. Brad called it our bonus baby. We were shocked, but happy for the third addition. We had a scare in the first trimester and were not sure that this pregnancy would last. Praise to God, the pregnancy did survive.

Several of my friends have requested the birth story. So here it goes:

We scheduled a C-section on 2/24/10. We decided on a C-section after researching and consulting my OB. I had a C-section with Guy due to placenta previa. We had considered a VBAC, but we did not want to risk it. The day before the C-section, I started having contractions. I contacted my doctor and I was told to only go to the hospital if my contractions were 5 minutes apart for two hours. So, I spent the day with contractions 7 to 8 minutes apart. Brad downloaded me a contraction counter for my iPhone. LOL! Toward the evening, the contractions become stronger. The contractions were not 5 minutes apart for 2 hours, but I was in lots of pain. Finally, we decided to go to the hospital. I had in my mind that they were not sending me home. I was in too much pain. We get to the hospital. They already have my room set up, because I am scheduled for surgery in 8 hours. Everyone is taking their time and the nurse decides to check me. 9 cm and my water is about to break! Everything changed. People are running everywhere, my water breaks and Brad looks like he is about to pass out. They tell me that I am having this baby really soon and all natural....NO EPIDURAL! I was not mentally prepared for a natural birth. I had planned on a C-section! An hour after reaching the hospital, Rhyder was born. Birth was amazing and shocking! Can't wait for all the surprises Rhyder has for us!

Catching up

It's been so long since I blogged last. So much has happened. We moved into our house at the end of August. We love it. I will post pictures soon. We found out this summer we were expecting baby #3. We call HIM our bonus baby. Yes, it's a boy! Expecting his arrival at the end of February. I am unemployed as of last week. My job was outsourced overseas. It is a blessing for us!

Long time no post

So much has been going on since I last posted. Lorem started soccer last month. Pictures to come later. She has only played one game due to all the rain on Saturdays, but practice has been fun.

Easter. Guy had FOUR egg hunts. Way too much candy for the kids, but so much fun. It was awesome to talk about the meaning of Easter with Lorem. This picture was with some of our friend's kids on Easter Sunday....hard to keep the kids still for a picture.

The house has been keeping us really busy. Or should I say Brad busy? We have missed him while he has been working hard on the house. He did an awesome job wiring the house. Here is a picture of our front door after it got stained. I love this door!

It's Starting to Look Like a House!

Well, I have not posted in awhile. We have been really busy. The framing is coming along. We are so exciting. We would like it to rain only on Sundays until the outside work is done. Is that alot to ask? LOL.

Construction began!

The day has finally arrived! After purchasing the lots, selling our house, moving into a rental, getting our house plans finished, and trying to get a construction loan (in the mist of the mortgage crisis)......WE FINALLY BROKE GROUND THIS WEEK. Now, we are praying for NO RAIN and completing the house in 6 months.

First day of clearing trees. I am not a "tree hugger", but it was sad to see some of those big pines come down.

Santa

We ran into Santa yesterday at Newk's. I was surprised that Guy sat in Santa's lap. Guy wants a train set and Lorem wants a Princess Barbie. Lorem does not believe in Santa, but after seeing him yesterday...she said to me, "Mom, I think that is the REAL Santa!"

She loves to read!

Lorem has become an excellent reader. I am amazed at the long words she knows at first sight. As her kindergarten teacher told me last year, "this is not the same school system you went to as a child. We start reading in kindergarten." Lorem loved to read from a really early age. This a picture of her at two years old. This is the shelf her books had been. We had to put her books up in the closet and bring them out for reading time. Otherwise, there was crying and begging for us to read a book. Honestly, she could sit in your lap and listen to you read for hours. She is growing up so fast! She was trying to read a book to Guy last night. Guy is a different story! I love those kids!

Madagascar 2

Saturday we took the kids to see Madagascar 2. This was Guy's first trip to the movie theater. He made it to the end (eating the entire way.) He was so excited. He was talking to the movie and yelling out "yeah." Lorem loved it too. She said it was better than the first one. Fun times!

Halloween

Lorem was Cleopatra for Halloween. She loved it. She told everyone that she was an Egyptian Queen.
Guy was a turtle. He did not like the costume. I don't have a good picture of his entire costume. Here is one with his turtle head.

Camping

Alot has happened since the last time I blogged. I feel like I am just "catching my breath." We have been busy with house planning, fall parties/festivals, birthday parties and a camping trip. The weather has been so nice. We have not taken a family camping trip since Guy joined our family. I love camping, but I am not a big fan of tent camping. Brad and Lorem love it, so I go with a smile on my face. We all slept in a small tent together. Guy was rolling all around the tent like a "steam roller." Lorem was talking like crazy in her sleep. Yes, she even talks in her sleep. Too funny....where is my shy kiddos. They both take after Brad. Anyway, here is a picture as we are leaving to go camping.

Pumpkin Patch

Saturday we went to Pappy's Pumpkin Farm and had a wonderful time. We rode the barrel cars pulled by a tractor. Lorem rode in the Barbie car with me. Guy rode in the Thomas Car with Brad. Guy did not want to get out of the car. The kids swung on tire swings, fed the fish in the pond, and went on a hay ride. The morning was so much fun. When we were leaving, Lorem said... "My life would be perfect if we lived here."

My parents (Nene and Granddaddy) have a neighbor with animals. Cows, chickens and the kids' favorite....deer. One of the deer is tame and loves to eat apples. Here is a picture of the kids feeding her apples. They really love the animals. It is great for them to experience the animals. Some of my best memories growing up happened at my grandparent's farm. I enjoyed those times so much.

Fun Day at the East Texas State Fair!

Sunday we made our annual trip to the East Texas State Fair. We really enjoy this time with the kids. We were pleasantly surprised that Guy was just tall enough to ride the kiddie rides (he is just @ 36 inches). Lorem was a good co-rider.

Lorem loved the games most of all. It was a hard lesson to learn that you don't always win.

Can't wait to go back next year!

10 YEARS!

Brad and I celebrated our ten year anniversary on August 15th. We had an amazing trip to San Juan Island, WA to celebrate the anniversary. It was wonderful to spend a vacation with my best friend. We were able to slow down, laugh, and reconnect. Sometimes we would eat dinner without saying much at all to each other. We enjoyed the silence of relaxing and eating a meal without kids. Although towards the end of the trip, I missed catching "flying objects" from Guy and talking non-stop to Lorem.

Taking care of mother

My mother had surgery last week. She had surgery on her shoulder and hand. I stayed with her from Tuesday to Saturday. I missed Brad and the kids so much. It was nice to spend time with my mom and dad. This was the longest period of time I have been away from Lorem or Guy....or Brad in the 10 years of marriage. Yes, we celebrated our 10 year anniversary on Friday. Anyway excited to get home. My mother is recovering very well.
